About our accommodation in Snowdonia, North Wales

The Ozanam Centre is located in beautiful countryside at the eastern end of the Nantlle valley, one of Snowdonia's hidden corners.

It is a mix of contemporary accommodation with the character of a charming old Welsh hill farm. The original farm building dates from about 1800. It was called Tyn-y-pwll, which means "home near the little lake".

The centre has five acres of grounds, including a small lake, nature reserve and stream.

In 1979 the site was purchased by the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP England and Wales ). The building was named "The Ozanam Centre" after the founder of the charity, Frederick Ozanam.

The centre was created to provide low-cost holidays for children and families with limited opportunities, as well as for those with special needs. It was adopted as an SVP National Special Work in 2001, meaning that the charity runs The Ozanam Centre for this very purpose.
